The Hook Riddim – Salty Sound

Salty Sound had a tidy little soca set with The Hook Riddim in 2018, and the concept lives up to the title: four cuts, four artists, no wasted motion. Ghage Maddis’ “Jab Bad For Days” kicks it off, Soya keeps the pace going with “No Hassle, ” and Tallpree’s “Snake Innah Bag” is the cut most likely to catch a crowd by the collar. Valene Nedd closes things out on “Hook Whine, ” which keeps the project leaning into that carnival-ready, chant-and-response energy rather than anything overly glossy. There’s no bonus instrumentation or long intro section here, just the straight riddim presentation and a compact vocal lineup.
