Seanizzle Records’ 47th Floor Riddim arrived in 2016 as a modern dancehall juggling with a sharp, clean pulse and enough room for both hard talk and party songs to land. Sean Reid, better known as Seanizzle, was already a familiar name in the scene by then, with a run that included earlier staples like One Day, Outada, Split Personality and 90’s Don Dadda. By the time 47th Floor came through, he had settled into the role of a producer who understood how to make a rhythm sound current without stripping away the street-level grit that makes a dancehall project matter.
The riddim’s sound is brisk and uncluttered, with a percussive bounce that gives the singers and deejays space to work. It has that late-2010s dancehall feel: lean drums, a bass line that stays in motion, and a polished edge that keeps the whole thing moving like a juggling built for radio, dance sessions and replay value. The title itself suggests a higher-rise swagger, and the songs on it match that mood with confidence, flex and a touch of menace.
Mavado is one of the anchor voices here, turning in Way We Roll and Niggaz Don’t Know with Muskilla, both of which suit his cold, measured delivery. Busy Signal’s Play The Horns is another key cut, because his cadence always knows how to slip into a rhythm without losing personality. Christopher Martin pulls the riddim in a different direction on Black Board and Stop, bringing melody and a more playful touch. Charly Black’s Momentum, Shawn Storm’s Party Night, Razor B’s We Nah Leff and Savage’s Yes Momma help round out the project’s range, while the instrumental version leaves the rhythm exposed and shows how little it needs to stay effective.
There was also a second wave of cuts tied to the same rhythm, with names like Demarco, Jahmiel and Ding Dong appearing on later versions, which helped keep the riddim in circulation beyond its first run. What makes 47th Floor memorable is that it does not rely on one big gimmick; it works because the production is sturdy, the artists are well chosen, and the songs hit from different angles without breaking the mood.
