TEK OVER RIDDIM produced by BAD ROCK RECORDS 2011
Tek Over Overview
In 2011, a new sound was born in the dancehall scene. The Tek Over Riddim, shaped by the skilled bashment arranger, carried a raw energy that quickly caught the attention of DJs and party crowds. The project started in the studio with BAD ROCK RECORDS, a label known for pushing the boundaries of dancehall music and helping shape the sound of modern bashment. BAD ROCK RECORDS had already earned respect for their consistent output and knack for discovering fresh talent. The riddim’s journey began with Bad Rock himself, who voiced the title track, Bad Rock — Tek Over Riddim. His delivery set the tone, bringing the riddim’s explosive spirit to life. Ding Dong, famous for his hit “Holiday” with Chevaughn, brought his own fire with Ding Dong — Caan Run We Over, giving the bashment crowd another anthem to move to. Eklypse added his voice with Eklypse — Mek It Happen Nuh, while Patexx, known for collaborations with Bounty Killer, kept things sharp on Patexx — So Clean. Tornado rounded out the project with Tornado — Get That Paper, adding another layer of energy. From studio sessions to sound system cuts, DJs kept the Tek Over Riddim alive, spinning it at dances across Jamaica and beyond. The project’s strong lineup and infectious energy made it a true bashment favorite, still remembered by fans today.
