Shines Records’ Taranchyla, also filed as the Tell Me Riddim, sits squarely in that late-’90s dancehall pocket where bright keyboard lines, a heavy low end and brisk, sound-system-ready pacing did the work before anyone even touched the mic. The riddim first surfaced in 1997, and the lineup reads like a snapshot of the era’s crossover moment, when established voices and rising street names could share the same juggling and each leave a different mark.

Beenie Man’s “Tell Me” gives the riddim one of its cleanest hooks, while General Degree’s “Superman” pushes the energy toward cheeky, dancefloor-minded bragging. Alley Cat’s “Cold Like Ice” brings a sharper, cooler edge, and Elephant Man with Harry Toddler turn “Badman Nuh Run Back Nuh” into a fast-talking anthem built for forward motion.
