Keeping the mood lean and metallic, Synthetic Riddim leans into a taut dancehall pulse rather than anything glossy, with Diwali lining up a sharp little cast of late-2000s-era voices across eight cuts. Firelinks kicks it off with “Do Yu Thing, ” Zumjay rides the clipped momentum on “The System, ” and General Degree’s “Bedroom Gangsta” adds a sly, lived-in edge before Richie Stephens and Bling Dawg push the vibe into smoother, more flirtatious territory. Red Rat’s “Hooray” brings a familiar bounce back into the mix, and the project closes on Lenky Marsden’s instrumental, which leaves the riddim’s synthetic hooks and hard-edged drum pattern ringing in your ears.
