Quick, dirty, and cut straight for the clash lane, Quick Murda Riddim came out of Dancehall Promo Productions in 2018 with just four cuts, but the mood is all tension and forward motion. Kaadinal Fyah’s “Hot Strap” takes the spotlight, and with that Tommy Lee Sparta and Pink Boss diss built in, it hits with the kind of street heat that made late-2010s dancehall feel so combative again. Jonze Lmg’s “Darkness” leans into the murkier side of the riddim, while Persona’s “Wul Dem Ya” keeps the pressure on without overcomplicating things.
