Susumba Overview

In 2011, several talented reggae artists came together for the Susumba Riddim project. Dubtonic, known for their energetic live performances and the song "Togetherness," brought their unique style to the mix. Faya Star, who performs "Rise & Shine," added positive and uplifting lyrics. Nature, who gained recognition with the track "What Should I Do," is also known for his strong presence in Jamaica’s roots reggae scene. Nazine’s "Natural Love" and Nezbeth’s "Calm Them Self" each bring their own flavors, rounding out the project with heartfelt vocals and conscious lyrics. The dub cut was an important part of 2011’s roots reggae sound. It took the original tracks and gave them a deeper, more atmospheric feel, letting the instrumentals shine. This approach matched the conscious and soulful mood of reggae that year. JAH SNOWCONE PRODUCTION, the producer behind the riddim, is known for working with many top reggae and dancehall artists. Jah Snowcone is especially famous for producing Sean Paul's international hit "Temperature," which topped charts worldwide. With Susumba Riddim, the label continued its tradition of strong production and catchy rhythms.
