Street Medz Riddim – Fams House Music

Fams House Music kept Street Medz Riddim in the 2015 dancehall pocket, and the set feels true to the title: rough-edged, streetwise, and built for voices that can ride a straight, muscular pulse. The release landed in late 2015 and runs with 13 tracks, including an instrumental, plus clean and raw versions for Teflon and Turbulence, which gives the package that radio-and-road balance dancehall producers were pushing hard at the time.

Fams House Music is a Jamaican production camp with a small but recognizable riddim catalogue, and Street Medz sits neatly beside earlier work like Buss Out and later entries such as Road Medz. The name alone suggests a producer team that understands the value of a strong one-drop of a phrase: simple, memorable, and easy to build a juggling around.

The cast is stacked with artists who know how to lock onto a riddim without overcomplicating it. Delly Ranx, the veteran deejay and producer, opens with We A Di Boss, while Pamputtae brings her sharp, high-energy delivery to Him Nuh Bad and Tiana adds another female voice on Yuh Man A Mine. Specialist, Tanto Blacks, Jah Son, Flexxx and Formila One each push the rhythm from a different angle, but the cuts that stick quickest are Delly Ranx’s boss talk and Turbulence’s Nowhere To Hide, where the more conscious tone meets the riddim’s harder stride. Teflon’s Caan Box Mi also lands well in both clean and raw form, giving the project a bit of extra road mileage.
