Raggedy Joe Music and Gowdie Enterprise have long worked the roots-conscious end of the Jamaican reggae lane, and Sci-Fi Riddim sits neatly in that space. Released on September 16, 2022, the project pulls in Little Robert, Anthony Red Rose, Tanto Metro and Devonte, Chico, and Hawkeye on the main vocal cuts, with Raggedy Joe Music | Gowdie Enterprise handling the instrumental. Anthony Cameron is tied to the Raggedy Joe side of the production, while Lawrence Gowdie’s name is also attached to the label’s recent output.

The riddim itself is mellow and spacious rather than aggressive, the kind of one-drop frame that leaves room for melody, phrasing, and a singer’s timing. It has a clean, late-night feel, with the instrumental sitting in that classic roots pocket where the bass line carries the weight and the drums stay patient. The title suits it: there is a light futuristic sheen to the atmosphere, but the music remains grounded in traditional reggae arrangement.

Little Robert’s In My Dreams is the emotional center, and the A-side/B-side treatment gives the tune extra weight. Anthony Red Rose brings his seasoned singjay touch to When You Love Somebody, while Tanto Metro and Devonte add a sharper dancehall edge on Nobody Else without breaking the riddim’s warmth. Chico’s Real Pro appears in two versions, and that split is one of the more interesting touches here, giving the same song a slightly different cut and feel.
