Rock Star Riddim – Jam 2 x Baby G

Jam 2 x Baby G aren’t usually the names people reach for when they want a soft-edged dancehall cut, and Rock Star Riddim keeps things tougher and more playful than polished, with that 2009 Kingston bounce pushing the whole set forward. Wayne Marshall’s “Puff It Mix (Edit)” and Chino’s “Real Revolution” ride the rhythm with clipped vocals and a busy, street-level energy, while Bling Dawg’s “Aerobics Class” and the Ding Dong/Cecile pairing on “Whine U Body” lean into the body-movement angle that the title hints at. The production is lean rather than busy, leaving space for the percussion and bass to do the work, and the version at the end lets you hear how the riddim holds up on its own.
