Hitler Riddim – Volcano Records, issued in 1982, comes out of the Henry Junjo Lawes orbit and captures that early-’80s Volcano sound with Linval Thompson also tied to the production. The small vocal set is led by Eek-A-Mouse, with Wild Like A Tiger and Hitler giving the riddim two of its key turns; the former is the better-known cut, while the latter shows the same tough, animated deejay style from the period. Junjo’s Volcano label was one of the defining forces in the pre-digital dancehall era, and this release sits neatly in that run of heavy, streamlined productions built for sound system play.
