Burial Release Details

Produced by Jo Jo Hookim, Burial Riddim is a 1978 roots cut associated with Hitbound and anchored by Lone Ranger’s Natty Burial, with Ranking Joe’s Burial carrying the rhythm into the early ’80s. The wider list later pulls in Admiral Tibet’s Babylon War, Half Pint’s Living Is Hard, Charlie Chaplin’s Reason Wid De Entertainer, Gregory Isaacs’ Ha Fi Mek A Tracks and Culture’s What A Gwaan, showing how the riddim kept circulating across different eras and labels. It’s a sturdy late-’70s foundation rhythm with a long afterlife, moving from the original Hitbound version into later takes on Kings, Power House, Star Trail and Anti Boom.
