In Jamaica’s 2008 reggae-riddim run, Birchill Records lined up a Politics Riddim set that leans on names with real weight: Morgan Heritage on “Rasta Wi Seh, ” Chuck Fenda on “Never Si Dis Yet, ” Busy Signal on “Politics, ” and Konshens on “How It Feel. ” The sequence moves from roots-conscious chants into sharper dancehall commentary, with Vybz Kartel and Dmajor’s “Revolution” adding a harder edge before Christopher Birch closes things off with the version cut. It’s a nine-track release in all, and the inclusion of the instrumental at the end keeps it in classic riddim-project territory rather than a straight singles pack. Birchill handled the production, and the tracklist also gives Da’Ville, Irie Love and Kris Kelly room to work the same rhythm from different angles.
