Natty Ride Riddim – Feel Free Records

Feel Free Records kept things lean on Natty Ride Riddim, a four-song 2008 reggae set that leans on conscious voices more than big-name crowding. Lutan Fyah’s “Stand Up For Life” feels like the anchor here, riding the same clean, rootsy groove that also gives Lukie D’s “Rise Up” and Empress Robertha’s “How Long” plenty of room to breathe. The whole thing has that warm, mid-tempo sway that sits nicely between meditation and motion, with Safira’s “Arrest Me” adding a sharper edge at the end. It’s a small cut, really, but the restraint is part of the charm.
