One Pop Music and Taxi Records frame the rhythm with a clean, steady pulse, leaving room for voices like Hopeton Lindo, Sandra Cross and Storry to sit right in the pocket; Storry’s “Another Man” is the kind of cut that sneaks up on you, while Sandra Cross gets a second pass with Ambelique on the featured version of “Incomplete. ” The whole thing came out in 2019 as a 12-song various-artists set, with Sly and Robbie’s names tied to the composition on “In Your Eyes, ” which gives the project a little extra lineage. And that’s before Bunny Brown closes the sequence with “My Music. ”
