ONE DUBPLATE RIDDIM produced by IRIE SOUND & RG STUDIO 2013
One Dubplate Overview
Back in 2013, dancehall had a fresh sound thanks to a special recording called One Dubplate Riddim. Selectors and fans loved it for its bashment-ready tracks and street energy. The project stood out because of the way the riddim was built and how each artist brought their own style to the base. The track builder behind this was the team of IRIE SOUND and RG STUDIO. IRIE SOUND is known for deep roots in the reggae and dancehall scene, with a reputation for clean, powerful productions. RG STUDIO has worked with several respected artists and has helped shape many anthems in the genre. Together, they made sure every track on the riddim had a strong, anthemic feel. Galaxy P opened the project with "Intro — Dubplate Irie Sound," setting the tone. He is well known for his hit "Pass the Wee," which made waves in the early 2000s. Ah Tool followed up with "Pas Hesiter," bringing tough street vibes. Albinos Williams added "Que Des Bad Tunes," keeping the energy high. Cars gave us "Ce Truc," and Erry B delivered "Big Up." Each artist used the riddim’s lively base to show off their voice and style. Ighta D’s "Au Top," Kaztet D’s "Raggamuffin Duplate Irie Sound," Naaman’s "Skanking Sound," Ruben’s "Marijuana," and Tio’s "Mal Au Crane" all added their own flavor, making the riddim a true street anthem collection. Looking back, One Dubplate Riddim helped keep dancehall alive in 2013, giving both fans and selectors something real to celebrate.
