Chronic Law Sings About The Rules of Life

Chronic Law Sings About The Rules Of Life

Dancehall artist Chronic Law seems to be on a public relations campaign and working on his image. Known for his gritty “violent” songs the artist went out of his way to explain in a recent interview on The Lets Be Honest podcast how his catalogue of music was songs of self-awareness and protection.

“Inna your brain yuh call it violent,” the Law Boss responded. He reasoned, “Mi sing ‘bout self-awareness and self-protection.”

He further explained, “A dat alone we a talk ‘bout if yuh really fi pree it inna real life – self-awareness and self-protection… Yuh neva hear mi seh mi jus’ a chop somebody. Mi affi get a cut first.”

In a country where violence levels are through the roof, Chronic Law was the most streamed dancehall artist in 2021. So, one could assume his music related to most of the violence occurring on the island. Not a fair assessment to be fair because the violence still exists and he has not been as prolific when it comes to releasing music.

However, the Law Boss continues to make music and his latest track goes some way in addressing the point he was making. Rules of Life is about living your life and not being flashy. He drives the point of being self-aware and that once people covet what you have they tend to act on it but with violence. Interestingly enough, in the official video, Chronic Law sings holding a gun in his hand. Ironic huh?

Mixed[/embed] messages from the Law Boss whose real name is Akeeme Cambel. What he is not getting is violence breeds violence. I guess it’s a chicken-and-egg situation of what came first.

Chronic Law will continue to be a fan favorite and his music rings true to be fair. Listen to the latest track and hear him out.
