Matte Black Riddim (2014) – Jag One Productions

Jag One Productions usually leans into hard-edged dancehall, and Matte Black keeps that energy but trims the cast to a sharp seven-cut set that feels more focused than sprawling. Aidonia opens with “Cocky Tuff Up, ” then Jag One lets the rhythm do its talking: a taut, mid-tempo pulse with a clean, rubbery kick and enough room for the deejays to snap their lines into place, while Deablo’s “Super Fit” gets the rare double treatment in radio and raw form, and Spice turns “Mi Nuh Boring” into the kind of cheeky, body-moving cut that sticks fast. Jah Vinci, Jayds, Shokryme and Tanso fill out the rest, and the release landed on September 30, 2014 with eight tracks total, including the two versions of “Super Fit. ”
