Loyalty Riddim – Moshouse Productions

Bounty Killer sets the tone on “Global Gallis, ” and that’s the right anchor for Moshouse Productions’ 2016 Loyalty Riddim, a 12-track set that runs 36 minutes and keeps its focus tight around modern dancehall pressure. From there, Iyara’s “Turn Waist” leans into the street-ready side of the riddim, while Naazir’s “Dollar Bill” and Teknique and Deno Gee’s title cut keep the energy moving with sharp, hook-first writing. Brewsie’s “I Know Jah” and Pepper’s “Journey” open the door to a slightly more reflective lane, but the production never loses its forward drive; the instrumental closes the package cleanly and leaves the groove hanging in the air. Bounty Killer’s opener is the one that gives the riddim its weight, though, and it’s the track that frames the whole set.
