LIFE’S PATH RIDDIM (2ND EDITION) – GOOD GOOD PRODUCTION 2018
Good Good Productions keeps the 2018 Life’s Path Riddim in that modern dancehall pocket where clean digital drums, rolling bass and a steady 100-ish BPM give the singers room to work the hook. The set was released on February 5, 2018, and the second-edition tag fits a juggling that had already been expanded beyond the first pass, with the full project running to 15 tracks in digital form.
Zum’s Good Good imprint has been carving out a place in Jamaican dancehall out of Montego Bay, with a catalogue that leans hard on riddim-driven releases and a steady ear for artists who can carry a melody as well as a forward-leaning toast. Life’s Path Riddim sits neatly in that lane: polished, radio-ready, but still street-conscious enough to leave space for talk of pressure, judgment, ambition and survival.
The strongest cuts are the ones that catch that balance. Bryka’s “Neva Haffi Wake” rides the rhythm with a direct, struggle-to-success message. Navino turns up twice on “Concecrated, ” including a raw version, and his smooth singjay approach gives the riddim some lift. Rhyming King’s “Doubters” pushes the introspective side harder, while Chukki Starr’s “Nuh Glad Fi We” brings a tougher edge. Elsewhere, songs by Govana, Masicka, Bugle and Konshens, I-Octane and Yanique Curvy Diva, and D’Angel help widen the frame, but the project’s real strength is how evenly it holds both conscious talk and dancehall attitude without losing its pulse.
