The Dancehall Banger Riddim – Bangology

The Dancehall Banger Riddim came out in 2018 on Bangology Records, the imprint behind a full-length juggling built for selectors and dancehall lovers who still want a proper one-riddim package. It lands in that late-2010s lane where the drums are clipped, the bass is heavy, and the whole thing is cut for quick reloads and loud speakers. The instrumental has a stark, club-forward pulse, with enough space for deejays to ride the pocket hard.

Bangology’s roster choice is the first thing that gives the project shape. Mr Vegas opens with “Pray About It, ” bringing veteran presence and that familiar mix of grit and uplift. Macka Diamond gets two passes on “Sex Doll, ” clean and raw, which tells you the riddim is aimed at both radio and the street. Teflon also doubles up on “Black Liberation, ” and his conscious edge gives the set some balance against the more party-driven cuts.

The rest of the cast keeps the energy moving: Erup’s “Network, ” Delly Ranx with “Send Dem Home, ” Raine Seville on “So Blessed, ” Ganggoolie’s “Nail Dem, ” and Mr Banging’s own “True Life Story” all fit the rhythm’s direct, no-nonsense feel. “Banging Bounce, ” cut by Mr Banging, Ganggoolie and Camalla Latouche, is one of the more collaborative moments on the release, while Talio’s “Inna Mi Pocket” and Kashu’s “Nuh Call Mi Suh” help round out a project that plays like a proper dancehall juggling, not just a loose compilation.
