Typhoon Music Productions keeps Kharisma Riddim leaning into a clean, mid-tempo dancehall groove with enough room for the voices to do the talking, and the lineup leans more streetwise than flashy. Merciless sets the tone with “Boring, ” while Crawba X10’s “Summer Time” and Strappa’s “Nuh Man” push the riddim in a more playful direction, giving the project a nice back-and-forth between swagger and seasonal feel. Ki, Anaconda, and Mr Charge keep the pace moving without crowding the frame, and the one duet here, Jah Bro and Sehkura’s “Ready Steady, ” adds a sharper closing run that feels aimed straight at the dance. Released in 2013 and running seven tracks deep, the juggling keeps a tidy shape, but it’s Merciless who leaves the strongest mark here.
