JAMETTE RIDDIM produced by ANSON PRODUCTIONS 2018
Jamette Overview
In 2018, a new wave of island energy swept through the Carnival season with the release of the Jamette Riddim. The journey began in the studio of ANSON PRODUCTIONS, a Trinidad-based producer known for shaping some of the most memorable soca sounds of the decade. With a reputation built on creative beats and high-energy arrangements, ANSON PRODUCTIONS crafted a riddim that was ready for the road and the dancefloor. The Carnival director that year wanted something that would capture the spirit of the festival and keep the crowds moving from sunrise to sunset. ANSON PRODUCTIONS delivered, bringing together a select group of artists who each added their own flavor to the collection. Shenseea, already a rising star from Jamaica, brought her unique style to “Play Di Soca.” Known for her hit “Blessed” and collaborations with international acts, Shenseea’s presence on the riddim drew attention from both soca and dancehall fans. Nailah Blackman, a Trinidadian singer with deep musical roots, contributed “Dame Lorraine.” Nailah is celebrated for her breakout single “Baila Mami” and her role in carrying on the soca legacy of her family. The producer himself, ANSON PRODUCTIONS, added his own track, “Jamette Riddim,” giving the collection a signature sound. Together, these songs powered countless fetes and street parades, spreading joy across the islands. The festival collection captured the heart of Carnival 2018, blending tradition and new energy in a way that kept the celebration alive long after the last note faded.
