JAFRICAN RIDDIM produced by COPPERSHOT MUSIC 2010
Jafrican Overview
In 2010, some of dancehall and soca’s brightest stars came together on the Jafrican Riddim. Busy Signal, known for hits like “Bare Gal” and “Jafrican Ting,” brought his energetic style to the project. Charly Black, who would later score a global hit with “So Mi Like It” in 2014, also added his unique voice. Chedda joined with “Hill & Gully,” while Chip Chip delivered “She Nuh Know.” The riddim itself was crafted by Coppershot, who are well-known in Jamaica for their party-starting DJ sets and as the team behind COPPERSHOT MUSIC. COPPERSHOT MUSIC has played a big part in the dancehall scene for years. They are respected for producing rhythms that light up parties and festivals. Their work on Jafrican Riddim continued this tradition, mixing lively soca energy with dancehall’s bold sound. Fans remember how the Jafrican Riddim powered parades and street parties during the 2010 carnival season. Each artist brought their own flavor to the riddim. Busy Signal’s tracks gave the release a strong dancehall edge, while Chedda and Chip Chip added fresh voices. Charly Black’s contribution fit perfectly with the festive mood. The Jafrican Riddim stands out as a favorite from that year, thanks to the talents of Busy Signal, Charly Black, Chedda, Chip Chip, and the production skills of Coppershot. It remains a highlight from 2010’s festival soundtrack.
