2007 was a busy year for singjay-style dancehall, and Set Up Riddim fits right into that run of party-ready juggling with a lean, no-frills Coppershot cut. Black Rhino’s “Mad Guitar” is the kind of sharp opener that sets the tone straight away, while Charly Black’s “Backshot Time” and T. O. K. ’s “Whine And Go Down” push the riddim further into badman-to-dancefloor territory with that tight, forward-driving pulse Coppershot was leaning into at the time. The release is also listed in some databases under the alternate title “Wine Riddim, ” which suits the waistline focus of the vocal lineup, and the version circulated with four tracks in this stripped-down form.
