Bashment rhythms have a special place in Jamaican music. They bring people together at parties, street corners, and sound system sessions. In 2021, the Island Drip Riddim became one of the standout bashment rhythms, made for the dance floor and quickly proving its power across the scene. At the heart of this project was BARKLEY PRODUCTIONS. This studio is known for working with both rising and established dancehall artists. DJ Barkley, a key figure in the label, has been involved in several notable releases and is recognized for his sharp production style. Under his direction, the Island Drip Riddim captured the raw, energetic vibe that bashment fans love. The riddim featured a strong lineup. Alandon & DJ Barkley delivered the track "Tightest," bringing smooth vocals and catchy hooks. Tifa & DJ Barkley teamed up for "Love Triangle." Tifa is well known in dancehall for her hit "Spell It Out" and her powerful presence as a female artist. Teflon & DJ Barkley gave the project "Years Of Pain," adding a thoughtful edge. Kemar Highcon & DJ Barkley’s "Sneak Out" kept the party moving; Kemar Highcon is widely recognized for his breakout single "So Saucy." Mr. G’s "Jamaica" rounded out the selection, with Mr. G being a veteran in the industry, known for hits like "Swaggerific" and his influence on the dancehall scene.
