Back in 2019, when soca was leaning hard into compact, fete-ready riddims, Bass Ink Productions came through with The Drip Drip Riddim as a tight five-track set cut for the road. The lineup keeps the focus local and direct, with Shanta Prince opening on “Drip, ” Lil Rick sliding into “Feting Mood, ” and Tony Rebel Bailey’s “Live For This” giving the project one of its more recognizable turns. The production sits in that crisp, mid-tempo soca pocket, all punchy kick drum, springy percussion, and a bass line that stays low and mobile rather than bloated. At just five songs and around 19 minutes, it plays like a clean summer release, with the groove carrying the weight and the vocal approach staying bright, clipped, and made for movement.
