The bashment arranger behind the Highway Riddim brought a fresh sound to dancehall in 2000. Their style gave the riddim its unique energy, making it popular at night parties across Jamaica. The project was produced by STONE COLD as part of the GREENSLEEVES RHYTHM ALBUM series. Greensleeves Records is known worldwide for releasing some of the biggest dancehall and reggae collections. Their rhythm albums have helped launch and support many artists in the genre. Highway Riddim features top talent. Buju Banton delivers “Dis Mi Lady,” showing why he is one of dancehall’s most respected voices. Buju Banton is well-known for his classic album “’Til Shiloh” and has won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album. Capleton brings his fire to “Miles.” Capleton is famous for his energetic performances and hits like “Jah Jah City.” Chuck Fender & Fiona team up for “Money,” blending their voices on this catchy track. Danny English provides his style on “Hang Dem.” Elephant Man, known for his hit “Pon De River Pon De Bank,” joins Singer J on “Quint it.” Singer J also performs “Quint it” solo, adding his own twist. Other tracks include Fargo Voice with “Curiosity,” Goofy’s “Wha Dat Star,” Hawkeye’s “Who’s That,” and Kiprich’s “Police.” Selectors and fans still praise this 2000 yard session tape for its strong production and unforgettable tracks.
