HEXAGONE RIDDIM produced by VARIOUS ARTISTS 2001
Hexagone Overview
When the Hexagone Riddim dropped in 2001, dancehall fans were quick to react. The sound was heavy, and the energy felt just right for the bashment scene. People at parties and sound clashes would light up as soon as tracks from this riddim came on. A big part of the excitement came from the artists. 100 Grammes De Tetes brought their unique style to “Cab Calloway,” a track that stood out for its bold delivery. 86 Crew, already known for their strong presence in the French reggae scene, added “Numero Uno Dub,” which kept the dance moving. Aspo delivered “Love And Unity,” a song that matched the positive vibes they are known for. Daipivo’s “Amis Pour Le Pognon” and Faya Dub Avec Don Hartley’s “When The Bread Come Back” each added their own flavor. Other acts like Jah On Slide with “Slide Theme,” Jam Session’s “Detectes,” Jamasound’s “Pour Toi Le Seul,” Jim Murple Memorial’s “Why Dont You Do Right,” and Les Cameleons’ “La Maquina” gave the riddim even more variety. Behind the scenes, the studio work and label support helped shape the project. The producer, VARIOUS ARTISTS, is known for bringing together different talents and making sure each track fits the riddim’s vibe. The Hexagone Riddim was a real highlight in 2001’s bashment sets, giving fans plenty to dance to.
