When late-night dancehall sessions needed a spark, selectors often turned to the “dancehall drop”—a moment marked by high-energy tracks that could shift the crowd into a new gear. Tracks like Mr G’s “Closer,” Lukie D’s “Super Model,” Buju Banton’s “Any Weh,” Jigsy King’s “Nuttin Good,” Vybz Kartel’s “Fuck Anyweh,” Perfect’s “Life In Living,” and Anthony B’s “Banana Clip” became staples for that purpose. Each song brought its own flavor. Mr G’s “Closer” is known for its catchy hook and party vibe, while Lukie D’s smooth vocals on “Super Model” showed the softer side of dancehall. Buju Banton, who released the album *Til Shiloh* in 1995, brought his powerful presence with “Any Weh.” Jigsy King made noise with “Nuttin Good,” a memorable anthem from his catalog. Vybz Kartel, one of dancehall's most prolific artists, added to the energy with “Fuck Anyweh.” Kartel is widely recognized for his album *King of the Dancehall*, which reached number 2 on the US Billboard Reggae Albums chart in 2016. Founded by Cordell "Skatta" Burrell, SKATTA PRODUCTIONS has been an influential label in Jamaican music since the early 2000s.
