Mad Rave Riddim – Open Ear Music

By the time Open Ear Music got to Mad Rave Riddim, the label was already threading its way through that late-2000s dancehall run, and this one lands with a sharp, uptempo pulse that suits the era. Fambo’s title cut has the hooky, bashment-first energy you’d expect, but it’s Vybz Kartel’s Wine Yuh Body that really pulls the ear, with Wayne Marshall and Esco’s Off Dem Feet keeping the pressure on in a more party-ready lane. Elephant Man’s TLC adds another quick-hit entry, and the whole set is trimmed down with radio edits across the board, which tells you this was pitched for movement as much as play.
