In 2012, the Zimbabwean dancehall scene saw a major shift with the arrival of Float Riddim. The project was crafted at MIO Studios in Seke Chitungwiza, led by producer Clama Matara. Known for his sharp ear and deep roots in local music, Clama Matara brought together a team of talented artists and gave them a powerful, groovy backdrop. The riddim, built by Daclama, stands out for its rich bassline and sparkling synths, creating a sound that feels both modern and deeply African. Float Riddim quickly became a staple in dancehall parties across Zimbabwe, earning the title of a “yard anthem.” The collection features some of the country’s top names. Yuntiman shines with “Chimbondi Taurira,” a track that showcases his unique style. Bizzy Dee delivers “Pandinokuona,” adding to his growing reputation in the scene.
