D’ AVENUE RIDDIM (SOCA) – ANSON 2016
D Avenue Overview
The D Avenue Riddim brought a happy, energetic feeling to soca music in 2016. The rhythm is fast and bright, with drums and percussion that make you want to dance. The music has a joyful bounce, perfect for Carnival celebrations. It’s the kind of beat that gets everyone moving in the streets or at a party. A group of talented artists helped make this riddim special. Blaxx, with his song "Coming Over," added his powerful voice and signature style. Blaxx is well known in soca, especially for his hit "Leh Go," which became a Carnival anthem in Trinidad and Tobago. Lyrikal brought his song "Hello" to the mix, showing off his smooth vocals and catchy melodies. Olatunji, who performed "Oh Meh Darlin," is famous for winning the Groovy Soca Monarch title in 2015, showing his skill as a performer. Patrice Roberts joined with her track "Who I Am," sharing her strong voice and confident style. Patrice is known for her work with Machel Montano on the popular song "Band of the Year." Preedy delivered "Freeloader," adding his unique sound, and Sekon Sta brought energy with "Mad Man." Behind the scenes, the arranger from Trinidad and Tobago played a big role, blending all the voices and instruments to make the riddim sound smooth and exciting. The arranger made sure each artist’s song fit together, creating a full, rich sound.
