Conquering Lion Overview

The Conquering Lion Riddim was created in 2012, bringing together a team of talented musicians and vocalists in the studio. The project started with a clear vision from the arranger, who wanted to build a modern roots reggae sound with strong percussion and uplifting energy. This creative direction helped shape each track, making the riddim stand out in reggae circles. At the heart of the project was CHINEY K PRODUCTIONS, a label known for its authentic approach to reggae music. The producer behind the label had already made a name for themselves in the reggae community, working on several respected projects and helping new artists find their voice. Their dedication to roots reggae helped the Conquering Lion Riddim become a favorite among selectors and sound system operators. Each artist brought their unique style to the riddim. Magma’s “Conquer Them” set the tone with powerful lyrics and a strong delivery. Turbulence followed with “Red In Their Eyes,” adding depth and passion to the project. Ginjah’s “Sell Out” offered a thoughtful message, while Droop Lion & Nature’s “Concrete Jungle” painted a vivid picture of urban life. Anthony B delivered “Jah Is Love,” a song filled with spiritual strength. Other standout tracks included Adeena Myrie’s “Call On Jah,” Lady G’s “Two Can Play,” Kerry Ann Lewis’s “Controlling,” Powerman’s “Jah Guide Wi,” and Israel Yadafi’s “Not A Friend.” Each song added a new layer to the project’s rich roots sound. Over time, the Conquering Lion Riddim became a staple in roots reggae sessions. Its influence continues, marking it as an important chapter in reggae history.
