By the time Batelier Records and Flavour Production issued Majestic Riddim in December 2013, the label had already started using the project as a calling card for its international reach, and this one-riddim set leans into that idea hard. Djei Gogo’s production keeps the pulse steady at a brisk 81 BPM, with a clean reggae swing, weighty bass, and a melodic line that leaves plenty of room for voices from different corners and languages. Perfect Giddimani’s “Save A Little Bit” and Half Pint’s “Reliance” give the compilation some familiar pull, while Hornsman Coyote’s “Majestic Anthem” and Maglight’s French-language “Nou De Taille” underline the set’s cross-border feel. The vocal approach stays direct and conscious throughout, and the whole thing hangs on that same mid-tempo groove, equal parts rootsy and modern.
