Jack Spaniard keeps Blue Soap Riddim moving in a brisk, Carnival-ready lane, but the project is more about the pull of the groove than any big studio trickery. The bassline hits with that sharp Trinidad bounce, and the vocal cuts from Asten Isaac, Rayzor, Benjai, Fojo, and De Postman each carry a different slice of fete energy, from the cheeky pull of “Glitter and Feathers” to Benjai’s “How Can I, ” which gives the set a more playful, pointed edge. Released in October 2017 under Jack Spaniard Productions, it runs six tracks deep and closes the circle with Parry Jack’s instrumental, which lays the riddim bare and shows how neatly the whole thing is locked together.
