Gwada Riddim – Fox Productions

Gwada Riddim lands in that bright, road-ready soca pocket where the groove is meant to keep moving, with Fox Productions laying down a compact five-track set in 2017. Marzville’s “Fog Up” and the Motto/Fadda Fox combo on “Shell Dong Dat” give the riddim its most obvious spark, while Mr Legz’s “Must Wet (Do Ting)” keeps the energy pointed straight at fete season. It’s a quick project, but that’s part of the appeal: the instrumental opens the whole thing cleanly, and Skinny Banton’s “Aye” closes it out with the kind of punch that leaves the rhythm ringing in your head after the last drop.
