BLOODSUCKER RIDDIM produced by JAHSOULJAH 2006
Bloodsucker Overview
In 2006, the dancehall scene felt a fresh energy with the arrival of the Bloodsucker Riddim. This project was crafted by producer JAHSOULJAH, known for his bold approach and for building his own independent label. From the start, JAHSOULJAH wanted a sound that would light up sound systems and bring together both deejay and singer styles. The riddim was shaped in the studio with the help of sound engineer Mark “Bassline” Brown, who gave the tracks their deep, heavy punch. The creative process was intense. JAHSOULJAH invited a select group of artists to voice their cuts. Bloodsucker stepped up first, laying down the instrumental “Version,” which set the tone for the entire riddim. Conscious Fiyah then delivered “Microchip,” blending sharp lyrics with a smooth flow. Jr Randy, who is known in Europe for his energetic performances, recorded “Nicht Genug,” adding an international flavor. Likkle Lion brought roots vibes with “Jah Love Conquer,” while Lutan Fyah added his signature conscious lyrics on “My Voice.” Lutan Fyah is recognized for his 2004 hit album “Time & Place,” and his work with top reggae producers worldwide. Each artist brought something unique, but together, their songs created a powerful sound system anthem. When the Bloodsucker Riddim finally dropped, it quickly became a favorite among selectors. Even today, the sound system cut brings back the vibe of 2006—hardcore, melodic, and full of life. The project stands as a reminder of JAHSOULJAH’s vision and the talents of the featured artists.
