Block Party Riddim - Adde Productions

Released in 2013, Block Party Riddim finds Adde Productions in full dancehall mode, with a bright, bashment-ready groove that feels tailored for the dance floor rather than the headphones. The rhythm is snappy and driving, with enough bounce for singjay hooks and enough space for deejay talk-ups, which is why it works across straight party anthems and tougher street cuts.

Popcaan’s “Unruly Rave” is the tune that keeps pulling attention back to the riddim. By then he was already one of the most recognizable voices out of the Gaza/Portmore lane, and the song rides that reputation with a rowdy, crowd-moving energy. QQ and Blak Ryno’s “Feel The Vibes (Hands Up)” adds a different kind of spark, while Mad Cobra brings veteran authority on “Nuh Other Way. ” Jah Vinci’s “My Love” softens the edges with melody, and J Angel’s “Wine Up” pushes the project further toward dancehall’s ladies’ segment in both raw and edited versions. Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor’s “Empty Di Bar” adds another layer of personality, while Christopher Martin and Ajrenalin’s “Distorted” brings a smoother, more polished vocal blend into the mix.

Charly Black’s “Happiness” and Anarchie’s “Party Till Day Light” round out the set with more unforced club energy, making the riddim feel like a proper 2013 juggling rather than a one-song vehicle. Adde Productions and 21st Hapilos gave it the kind of release that sat comfortably in the middle of the era’s dancehall traffic: catchy, usable, and built for selectors who wanted multiple options from one rhythm.
