Blacklight Riddim – Mixpak Records

Blacklight Riddim arrived in 2015 from Mixpak Records and Dre Skull, with a tight four-artist vocal lineup that brought together Konshens, QQ, Spice, and Tifa over a dembow-leaning dancehall groove. The release leans on strong individual cuts, especially Konshens’ Gal Ting and Tifa’s Rock My Body, while QQ’s Next One and Spice’s Hold Tight round out the set with plenty of contrast in tone and delivery. Originally recorded in Kingston and mixed out of Mixpak’s Brooklyn setup, the project carries that Jamaica-to-New York link Dre Skull has made a big part of his sound.
