BADA BADA RIDDIM 1998
Bada Bada Overview
The Bada Bada Riddim was created in a Kingston studio in 1998. The riddim’s creator wanted to make a sound that was energetic and perfect for the dancehall scene. The beat is fast and full of excitement, with strong drums and catchy melodies. This style was designed to make people dance all night at parties and clubs. Beenie Man was one of the first artists to record on the riddim. He brought three songs: “Fire Burn,” “Me Nuh Walla Walla,” and “Naah Watch Nuttn.” Beenie Man was already a major name in dancehall, known for his hit “Who Am I (Sim Simma)” and for winning a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2001. His tracks on Bada Bada Riddim show his skill for catchy lyrics and energetic delivery. Bounty Killer contributed “Mega Mix,” adding his deep voice and tough lyrics. Bounty Killer is famous for his powerful performances and for helping to shape the sound of 1990s dancehall. He has also worked with international artists like No Doubt on the hit “Hey Baby.” Devonte’s “The Bounce” brought a smooth, melodic touch to the riddim. Elephant Man, known for his wild stage presence, added “Batty Bwoy,” which matched the riddim’s high energy. Ghost’s “Wasted Smoke” gave the riddim a soulful feel with his unique voice. Other artists like Harry Toddler (“A Fassy Dem”), Hawkeye (“Only Stick It”), and Little Kirk (“Dem A Screw”) also made strong contributions.
