Denyque Dontre was born on 21 February 1989 in Jamaica. She recorded her first single “Can’t Breathe” in 2009. Since then Dontre has played a significant role in the dancehall industry and has been awarded with accolades such as the Excellence In Music (EME) award for the best new artiste 2010 and The Manchester People’s Choice Award in 2014. Dontre has released successful singles such as “How To Rave”, “Summer Love”, “Make Me Believe” and many others. Some of her hit singles include “Pieces” which was produced by Don Corleon and “Super Girl” produced by Jeremy Harding. Her debut EP was titled “Her Name Is Denyque” released in 2015. She has performed at the famous Reggae Sumfest and she has shared the stage with famous hip hop star Nicki Minaj. In 2017, Dontre released the single “Proud Wifey”.
