Admiral Tibett

Admiral Tibett also known as ‘Mr. Reality’ was born Kenneth Allen in Freehill, Saint Mary, Jamaica in 1960. He attended primary school at Free Hill Primary and secondary school at Port Maria Secondary. The Jamaican dancehall singer is known for his ‘cultural lyrics’ and he is a member of the Rastafarian group, The Twelve Tribe4s of Israel since his youth. He has been described as the most consistently conscious singer of his age.

He began performing in clubs in Jamaica in his teens and he made his first recordings in his 20s. He moved to Kingston in 1982 and he made his first recording for producer Sherman Clacher ‘Babylon  War’ in 1985. He also recorded with Winston Riley a song called ‘Leave People Business’. Tibett then released his debut album ‘Come Into The Light‘ in 1987 and the album was produced by King Jammy. He went on to release more albums in the 1980s and 1990s. His famous hit ‘Serious Time was remixed by Shabba Ranks and Ninjaman.
