Feelings Riddim (2004) – Ras-I Records

Warm, late-night roots reggae is the feel here, with a mellow groove that leaves plenty of room for the singers to carry the emotion rather than crowding the mix. Feelings Riddim from Ras-I Records keeps the format lean at just three cuts: Admiral Tibet’s “Give A Helping Hand” leads, Natty King teams with Graddiel on “True Love, ” and the set is rounded out by a straight version track in between. That instrumental placement matters, because it lets the rhythm breathe before the vocals return with the heavier message songs. Produced by Ras-I Records in 2004, it’s a compact one-riddim set with no wasted motion.
