Tax Relief Riddim – Upt Records

2017 was still a busy year for roots-minded reggae riddims, and Tax Relief sat right in that lane for UPT Records with seven vocal cuts over a clean, mid-tempo one-drop pattern. The lineup leans on singers with a conscious edge: Ginjah’s “Soul Singing” and Turbulence’s “Clean Up Your Ways” bring the strongest moral pull, while Natural Black’s “Love America” and Kananga’s “Nuh Touch Mi Turban” keep the set grounded in everyday pressure and identity. There’s also a tidy album version, which helps the project play like a proper juggling rather than a loose collection of singles. At around 85 BPM, the rhythm moves with a steady bass pulse, crisp skank, and plenty of room for the vocals to breathe.
