Di Land Riddim – Infini-T Music

Infini-T Music’s Di Land Riddim leans a little more rootsy and open-hearted than a lot of the harder-edged 2017 dancehall-riddim traffic, which suits the lineup nicely. Gappy Ranks sounds right at home on “We Got Each Together, ” and the Luciano and Emeterians combination on “Take Me There” gives the project one of its warmer, more melodic moments. Loyal Flames keep the conscious tone rolling on “Everything To Me, ” while Polyfamous bring some cheekier edge with “Land Of Di Herbs, ” which is the kind of title that tells you exactly where the vibe is headed. Ras Tewelde’s “Many More Will Open” closes things on a hopeful note, and with the album landing in April 2017, it sat neatly in that stretch when roots and modern reggae compilations were still moving with real momentum.
