RUSTY LAS RIDDIM produced by JUNIOR SCORPIO 1993
Rusty Las Overview
In the early 1990s, dancehall music was changing fast. Sound systems played new rhythms, called riddims, at parties all over Jamaica. In 1993, the Rusty Las Riddim became a favorite for selectors at big events. The man behind the riddim was JUNIOR SCORPIO, a producer known for his creative touch in the dancehall scene. He helped shape the sound of the era, working with many top artists and pushing the music forward. Anthony B brought his song "New Talk" to the riddim, showing his powerful voice and energy. Anthony B is well known for his hit "Fire Pon Rome," which made him a star in reggae and dancehall circles. Mad Cobra added "Careless Mate," bringing his rough style. Mad Cobra is famous for his 1992 hit "Flex," which reached the top of the US Billboard Rap chart. Mega Banton stepped in with "Dem A Yu Enemy." He is known for his deep voice and songs like "Sound Boy Killing," which made a big impact in the dancehall world. Papa San completed the lineup with "Gimme The Loving." Papa San is respected for his fast lyrics and won the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Award in 2005. Together, these songs and artists made the Rusty Las Riddim a dancehall classic that year. The riddim’s pulsing yard beat kept the party going across the island.
