DOOGLE BERRY RIDDIM produced by VARIOUS LABELS 1987-1988

    Doogle Berry Overview

In the late 1980s, reggae music was changing fast, but the Doogle Berry Riddim stood out for its classic vibe. Released in 1987, it brought together a fresh sound while holding onto the roots that made reggae strong. The arranger behind the riddim used layered melodies and tight rhythms, shaping a groove that DJs and fans still love. VARIOUS LABELS, the producer, played a big part in reggae during this era. Known for putting out tracks that mixed tradition with new ideas, the label helped many artists find their voice. Their catalog includes several influential riddims, and their releases often appear in reggae playlists and sound system sets worldwide. Gregory Peck shines on “Doogle Berry,” bringing his sharp delivery and playful style. Peck is well known for his 1988 hit “Poco Man Jam,” which topped charts and remains a dancehall favorite. Hog Head’s “My Company” keeps the energy up with catchy hooks and a smooth flow. King Everald, with “King Of The Road,” adds a confident touch; he is remembered for his 1985 classic “After All,” which helped define his career. Thriller U’s “Hackle Dem” shows his strong, soulful voice—he is also known for his hit “My Love,” a staple in lovers rock. Today, Doogle Berry Riddim continues to pulse through reggae sets, keeping the genre’s foundation alive for new listeners.
