YARD JAM RIDDIM produced by TRAVIS WORLD / JONNY BLAZE 2019
Yard Jam Overview
The Yard Jam Riddim stands out as one of the pure dancehall sounds of 2019. The production work was led by TRAVIS WORLD and JONNY BLAZE, two names well-known in the Caribbean music scene. TRAVIS WORLD, a Trinidadian producer, has worked with major soca and dancehall artists, and his tracks have reached millions of streams online. JONNY BLAZE, based in the United States, is recognized for blending Caribbean rhythms with global influences, and has produced hits for artists like Shenseea and Konshens. Their studio hand on Yard Jam Riddim brought together a gritty, energetic sound that feels both classic and fresh. The recording process focused on capturing the raw energy of each artist. The riddim’s heavy bass and sharp drums gave every performer space to shine. Bunji Garlin, known for his hit “Differentology,” delivered a powerful performance on “Do Road.” Lyrikal, another respected soca artist, brought his melodic style to “My Heart.” Machel Montano, one of the Caribbean’s biggest stars and winner of multiple International Soca Monarch titles, added two tracks: “Good Vibes Only” and “Gym Trainer.” Munga & Fay, Ann Lyons teamed up for “You Got It,” while Noah Powa, famous for his energetic stage presence, contributed “Don’t Stop.” Other artists like Problem Child on “Proof,” Sekon Sta, Beenie Man & Mya on “X Rated,” and Shal Marshall with “Jam You” also helped shape the bashment rhythm. Yard Jam Riddim’s selector’s mix introduced new artists to the dancehall scene, giving them a major break.
