Jonny Blaze, a Jamaican producer and DJ who has been pushing a more global-minded dancehall sound, pairs here with Stadic on a release that sits alongside his other contemporary riddim work. The lineup is strong and familiar in the right way: Konshens, Mavado, Christopher Martin, Ric Rowe, Preedy and Ishawna each take a pass at the same canvas. Konshens’ On My Way brings his sharp, streetwise energy, while Mavado’s Clean adds the kind of hard-edged, melodic authority that has long made him one of dancehall’s defining voices. Christopher Martin’s Life’s a Holiday gives the riddim a smoother, more radio-friendly lift, with his clean tenor sitting neatly on the groove.
